On October 13, Board and committee members of the Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center (WAMMC) welcomed new members at a morning social held at the Chambers Center for Well Being. President Mary Courtemanche gave a brief history of the Association, founded in 1893, as well as the many accomplishments of fund raising efforts including the recent Mansion In May. As a result of that highly successful project, the Association presented Morristown Medical Center with a check for one and a half million dollars designated for the Center for Nursing Innovation and Research. Mary outlined several opportunities for new members to become involved and to share their strengths with the community.
Mary then introduced Sharon Katzman, a nutritionist at the Chambers Center, who presented a plan described as a Nutritarian Lifestyle. This plan, as developed by Dr. Joel Fuhrman, is one of the Center’s offerings presented as a twelve-week program. To gain an understanding of additional Wellness Center programs, members were given a guided tour of the facility.
Judging by the immediate feedback, the morning provided a great opportunity to meet and greet current and new members.
