WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION FOR MORRISTOWN MEDICAL CENTER ANNOUNCES 2019 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

MORRISTOWN, NJ, May 14, 2019 – The Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center (WAMMC) is pleased to announce its 2019 Scholarship Awards. WAMMC Scholarships are awarded each year to outstanding Morristown Medical Center employees to help further their continued education, development and leadership skills in the hospital and healthcare field.

Established in 1957, WAMMC’s Scholarship Program supports the staff at Morristown Medical Center by granting scholarships to hospital employees pursuing careers in the healthcare field. WAMMC Scholarship recipients are chosen based on applicants demonstrating extraordinary care and service to patients, their peers, colleagues and the community.

In 2019, WAMMC’s Scholarship Awards Committee awarded $44,000 in scholarships to a total of 22 employees. Scholarships are awarded to students working towards their Bachelor of Science and graduate degrees. An additional 14 employees were awarded scholarships from funds managed by Nursing Management at Morristown Medical Center. WAMMC’s commitment to its Scholarship Program can be attributed to the hard work of successful fundraising and the generous donations of WAMMC members.

“WAMMC’s Scholarship Program for healthcare professionals continues to be a very important part of our ongoing fundraising efforts to support Morristown Medical Center’s goals to provide superior health services to our community,” said Mary Courtemanche, President, Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center.

“Nurses are an integral part of providing excellent patient care in every hospital, and WAMMC’s Scholarship Program has assisted our nurses in obtaining the advanced skills that have helped make Morristown Medical Center the leading healthcare facility it is today,” said, Carol Jones, MSN, RN, NE-BC, Chief Nursing Officer, Morristown Medical Center. “We are more than grateful to WAMMC for its ongoing commitment to this program.”
