The Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center is pleased to announce that proceeds from its 18th Mansion in May 2017 Designer Showhouse and Gardens to be held at Alnwick – The Abbey in Morristown will be used to establish the Center for Nursing Innovation and Research at Morristown Medical Center. Mansion in May will be held throughout the month of May 2017 during Morristown Medical Center’s 125th anniversary year.
Morristown Medical Center is focusing on nursing innovation as a strategic priority with a goal of continuing a culture of nursing excellence that encourages and rewards nurses who go beyond existing performance standards, build a foundation to sustain that culture and support Atlantic Health System’s mission to advance the art and science of healing.
The Center for Nursing Innovation and Research will provide an opportunity for nurses to meet, exchange ideas and design solutions to existing or emerging health concerns. Nursing innovation centers are gaining traction across the country in academic centers. The leading programs are found at Penn Medicine, Texas Tech University and Mass General. Morristown Medical Center’s program will be modeled after these industry leaders.
“Adaptation and innovation have been part of our nursing culture for years and the goal now is to prepare the nursing practice for the future of nursing excellence,” said Carol Jones, MSN, RN, NE-BC, Interim Chief Nursing Officer, Morristown Medical Center. “We are nationally recognized for our nursing quality—having been designated a prestigious Magnet Hospital for Excellence in Nursing Service for a fourth consecutive time over the past fifteen years—and hope to share those best practices with other nurses, hospitals and health care institutions to improve care.”
