WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION FOR MORRISTOWN MEDICAL CENTER DONATES $10,000 TO SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FUND IN HONOR OF NEW HOSPITAL PRESIDENT
MORRISTOWN, NJ, June 12, 2016 – The Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center (WAMMC) donated $10,000 to its Scholarship Endowment Fund in honor of the appointment of Trish O’Keefe, PhD, RN, to President, Morristown Medical Center.
WAMMC’s Scholarship Endowment Fund supports its Scholarship Program. Established in 1957, the Scholarship Program supports the staff at Morristown Medical Center by granting scholarships to hospital employees pursuing careers in the health care field. WAMMC Scholarship recipients have demonstrated extraordinary care and service to patients, their peers, colleagues and the community. WAMMC awarded $26,000 in scholarships to 12 employees in 2016
.“Trish’s commitment and dedication to the nursing profession and passion for health care has made her an exemplary role model for all those who have worked closely with her over the years,” said Mary Courtemanche, President, Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center. “She has been and continues to be a strong supporter of WAMMC and we are delighted to make this donation to our Scholarship Endowment Fund in her honor.”
O’Keefe was named Chief Nursing Officer at Morristown Medical Center in 1996, Chief Experience Officer in 2012 and has served as interim president since July 2015.
