MORRISTOWN, NJ, May 21, 2026 – The Women’s Association for Morristown Medical
Center (WAMMC) is pleased to announce it exceeded its fundraising goal at its Spring fundraising event on April 28, 2026, and will contribute $200,000 to benefit the Women’s Heart Program at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center.
The “Springtime in Paris” event held at the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park, New Jersey, welcomed more than 250 guests for an elegant afternoon inspired by the charm of Paris. Attendees savored a Parisian-inspired luncheon and browsed an array of curated Boutiques, culminating in a très chic Fashion Show showcasing their designs. Complementing the event’s ambiance, artist Kate DeOssie created a live painting on-site, evoking the spirit of Montmartre’s famed art scene, captivating guests with both her artistry and talent.
Co-chaired by WAMMC Board Members, Janice Beck, Carol Critchley and Teri Norman, the event also featured a Grand Raffle and Silent Auction, thanks to the generous contributions from sponsors and local supporters.
Amy M. Ahnert, MD, Director of the Women’s Heart Program at Atlantic Health, highlighted her passion for raising awareness about heart disease, the leading cause of death for women, and how it can be prevented and treated.
The event also featured a presentation by Guest Speaker, Sarah C. Churgin, Owner, Acquisitions Fine Jewelry & Antiques Boutique and expert appraiser for the popular PBS series “Antiques Road Show.” In her presentation, Churgin traced the history of jewelry from Macedonia through Egypt, Italy, Turkey, Spain and France, highlighting both the evolution of precious metals, as well as how jewelry was worn as trophies or self-love.
“We are always proud to support Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center’s ongoing efforts to advance women’s health care in our community,” said Dale Scolnick, President, Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center. “We are equally proud of and grateful to our event co-chairs, committee members and volunteers who contributed to the success of our Springtime in Paris event.”
“We are deeply grateful to the Women’s Association for choosing the Women’s Heart Program as the beneficiary of their elegant Springtime in Paris event,” said Amy M. Ahnert, MD, Director of the Women’s Heart Program at Atlantic Health. “Their generous support enables us to continue our commitment to preventing and treating cardiovascular disease in women throughout all ages and stages of life, including young adulthood, pregnancy, menopause and beyond. Cardiovascular disease is even increasing in young women and despite being the leading cause of death, heart disease in women remains underrecognized and often misunderstood. Our program is dedicated to educating, treating and empowering women to recognize and combat heart disease.”
