Joe Nassaney, long time Manager of The Bargain Box Thrift Shop, has retired to move to warmer climates. Joe began as manager of the Bargain Box in 2005, and has guided this thriving profitable business run by the Women’s Association of Morristown Medical Center for ten years. With the average monthly sales for 2016 being in excess of $40,000, The Bargain Box Thrift Shop is one of the largest contributors to the hospital on an annual basis. Joe’s presence at The “Box” added not only knowledge and character but also laughter, and both volunteers and patrons will miss him.

Maggie Moffitt joined the Women’s Association Board in 2003 and became the Chairperson for the Bargain Box in 2005. Several years later the Box needed an Assistant Manager and she was the perfect choice. She has worked along side Joe for the past 10 years so it was no surprise when Joe announced his retirement that Maggie was offered the Manager position. The Women’s Association is delighted that she accepted and are looking forward to continued profits from this unique Thrift Shop.

On October 9th, friends of The Bargain Box gathered for their Annual Wine and Cheese. Every year the Box undergoes a spruce up for this annual event, both volunteers and patrons look forward to this invitation only event as an opportunity to shop and socialize. Clothing and jewelry are on display and available for purchase as guests browse the racks while sipping wine and enjoying light appetizers. This year The Bargain Box rang up sales of $6000 in this two-hour event.
