Record Breaking Support through Mansion in May Proceeds

The Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center, through the success of seventeen Mansion in May fundraisers, has supported the Medical Center and the community. The designated proceeds of each designer showhouse parallel the growth and development of the Morristown Medical Center.

The first Mansion in 1974 raised $133,000 for Intensive and Cardiac Care units. Since then, new OB/GYN units, expansion of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Center and Cardiac Surgery Telemetry Unit, Emergency Room renovations, the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center, Gagnon Heart Hospital, and inpatient palliative and hospice care have all benefitted from past Mansions. Support for children’s care has included the Children’s Medical Center that became Goryeb Children’s Hospital, the NICU, and the Valerie Fund Children’s Center at Goryeb.

In 2014, the Designer Showhouse at Blairsden designated funds for the expansion of the Joan & Edward Foley Pediatric Intensive Care at Goryeb Children’s Hospital and a new Autism Center of MMC. A record $2,000,000 was raised that year bringing the total profits of these events to nearly $10,000,000.

The Women’s Association, with the support of volunteers and attendees, hopes that proceeds from the 2017 Mansion in May, Alnwick Hall-The Abbey in Morris Township, will continue to break records in supporting the establishment of The Center for Nursing Innovation and Research at MMC.
