MORRISTOWN, NJ, July 25, 2023 – The Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center (WAMMC) is pleased to announce its 2023 Scholarship Awards. WAMMC Scholarships are awarded each year to outstanding Morristown Medical Center team members to help further their continuing education, development and leadership skills in the hospital and healthcare field.
WAMMC’s Scholarship Program, which dates back to 1957, supports the staff at Morristown Medical Center by granting scholarships to hospital team members pursuing careers in the healthcare field. WAMMC Scholarship recipients are chosen based on applicants demonstrating extraordinary care and service to patients, their peers, colleagues and the community.
In 2023, WAMMC’s Scholarship Awards Committee awarded $50,000 in scholarships to 25 employees working toward a Bachelor, Masters or Doctorate degree. This includes $4,000 raised by WAMMC’s Chatham and Cromwell Olive Twigs which enabled us to provide two additional employees with scholarship support. WAMMC awarded $28,000 in scholarships in 2022 to 14 recipients and $42,000 to 21 recipients in 2021.
“WAMMC’s Scholarship Program for healthcare professionals continues to be a very important part of our mission to support Morristown Medical Center’s goals to provide superior health services to our community,” said Dale Scolnick, president, Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center. “WAMMC’s ongoing commitment to this Scholarship Program can be attributed to the hard work of successful fundraising and the generous donations of its members.”
“We are extremely grateful to the Women’s Association for its ongoing commitment to this Scholarship Program,” said, Trish O’Keefe, PhD, RN, president, Morristown Medical Center, and senior vice president and chief nurse executive, Atlantic Health System. “Continuous education is critical for providing expert care to our patients, and this program assists our team members as they work to obtain the advanced skills that make Morristown Medical Center the leading healthcare facility it is today.”
